Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Follow-up

So I posted about the new Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey the morning I found out and I mentioned that I would follow up as soon as I got a bottle. Well, I lied. I was so excited that I went and bought one later that day.

So? It was as fantastic as I thought! Like I mentioned, I’ve had Seagrams & Wild Turkey’s Honey liqueurs, and I like them both. But I don’t know if it’s that I’m biased towards Jack Daniel’s or what but I think it may be my favorite. Now, of course, how can I judge without a side-by-side comparison, but I think the little bit of caramel may have tipped the Tennessee Honey in my favor.

As I also mentioned, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey has a Facebook page and on there they have several recipes. The ones that I tried first was the “Honey Tea”. The ingredients they had up we as such:

Ingredients
1 oz. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey
1/2 oz. cinnamon schnapps
1/2 oz. triple sec
3 oz. unsweetened tea

Combine ingredients in a tall glass over ice, garnish with a lemon twist, and enjoy responsibly!

Now I thought the cinnamon schnapps might be a bit too much, so I left that out. I used Teajava’s unsweetened tea and store brand triple sec.

I loved this. I couldn’t drink too much of it though, just because of the overly sweetness that a liqueur has. But I can’t wait for the next really hot day to give this one another try, maybe this time a “Honey Arnold Palmer”?

The next cocktail that I tried, I was able to squeeze in before the bottle was completely empty was what they called a “Jack & Swarmy”. It went like this:

Ingredients
1.5 oz. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey
1/4 oz. lime juice (one squeeze lime wedge)
4 oz. ginger ale or ginger beer

This one was a bit easier to drink in larger quantities! All I had was some Schweppes Ginger Ale, but I want to try this again with a stronger Ginger Beer.

There’s a few more cocktails that I want to try to make with this stuff, maybe we’ll just save those for future Podcasts. Until then, go get you some!
