Episode 110: Kiss My Blarney Stones

We’ve made it to 10!

In this episode, we figured we’d do a we bit o’ St. Patricks Day drinkin’!  This episode will probably hit a week or so after St. Patty’s day so we went for Irish Car Bombs.  Unfortunately for Hoover, he had to leave shortly after recording, which was probably not a very good idea…  We already started falling off after our first glass of Jameson neat (using my new Whisky stones).

Brad’s been watching Roseanne, Trailer Park Boys & I Spit on Your Grave (the remake), Hoover’s been watching Sparticus, he loves any movies of ripped men sweating & wrestling each other.

Brad’s been listening to the new Donald Glover “Childish Gambino” album, we’ve been listening to Rob Hubel’s new Podcast “Mike Detective” and Hoover talks about an old Radio Serial Drama called “Box 13″.

And finally, we drool about our love of The Original Pancake House and the infamous Roscoes Chicken and Waffles.

Cheers!

How to Make an Irish Car Bomb

Welcome.

Now, if you don’t already know how, I will now teach you how to make an Irish Car Bomb.

In Episode 10, we made an American St. Patricks Day staple, the Irish Car Bomb.  Now, typically when you hear bomb, it means you’re going drop a shot of something into a glass of something.

In this case, you’re going to need:

Guinness, canned or bottled.
Jameson Irish Whiskey or any Irish Whiskey, Jameson’s just better.
Bailey’s Irish Creme.
A Shot Glass.
A Pint Glass.

What you’re gonna do:

Pour your Guinness into your Pint Glass, and fill it about half way.
Pour your Whiskey into your Shot Glass about half way or as I like it, 4/5 of the way to the top, then fill the rest of the space with your Bailey’s.
Now you’re going to drop your Shot Glass into your Guinness so beware of splash-back.
Drop it and chug it.
Now spin around seven times with your forehead on a baseball bat…
Enjoy.

Cheers!

Hot Whiskey

As I mentioned in the Podcast, Hot Whiskeys are one of my favorite drinks.  They take me back to the tiny ol’ town of Doolin, on the west coast of Ireland.  They’re the perfect way to warm up on a cold day and what better way than to get plastered and STILL smell like sunshine, rainbows & lemon Pledge.

This is how to make a traditional Hot Whiskey.

What you’ll need:

A (Irish) coffee glass

Cloves

Hot Water

Sugar

a Lemon

& Your favorite Irish whiskey (Jameson)

Start by warming or prepping your glass with hot water and let it sit for about 3 minutes.  While you wait, take a lemon and cut it into slices.  Take half of a lemon slice and poke 3-5 cloves into the fruit, not the rind, & drop into the glass.  Next take a teaspoon of sugar or 2 sugar cubes & drop into the glass.  Pour 1 shotglass of whiskey into the glass & fill up the rest of the glass with HOT water.

Obviously, you’re going to want to let that sit for a minute before you start throwing it back, but once it’s cooled a bit, THEN enjoy.

I hope you dig this drink as much as I do, and if you don’t, at least you still have a bottle of whiskey to take your mind off of it!

Leave a comment, let me know what you think and if you have any variations of it, I’m always down for new ways to get hammered!

Cheers!
